"Pari observed that two types were virtually absent from the charity circuit - single men and working women. She conceived what has since become her magnum opus, the Red and White Ball, a black-tie party honoring the Bay Area's most eligible bachelors. The ball would be organized by women with full-time careers, meeting at night, rather than by Junior Leaguers or matrons of the leisure class. Since its debut in 1986, the annual singles event - now up to 450 men and women - has raised $3 million for charity. The lucky bachelors of the forty all contribute generously. And the women who work the longest hours at organizing and running the ball tend to have the inside track on Pari's introductions to the biggest catches."

Eligible but slippery S.F. bachelors

Pari Livermore loves being married. In fact, she has made it her life’s work to see that every nice woman she meets (she thinks they’re all nice) should be married. She even throws eligible men at women she particularly likes at the rate of one per week to make sure that somebody gets married. Just call her the Dolly Levi of San Francisco. (Or is it Marryin’ Sam-antha?)

Singles get ready for their big bash

Gearing up for the year’s biggest, fanciest singles fest, the Red and White Ball on January 29, is no easy feat. Woman or man, you go into training for it by attending as many pre-parties as you can, meeting and making allies, scoping out possible romances.

The last pre-party celebrating the ball was held on Friday night out at Carl Hackney’s striking modern home on an Oakland Hillside.

We’re talking a residence so swank I felt like an extra in a James Bond film: acres of marble fireplace, soaring glass walls and angled ceilings, polished stone and wood floors, immense rooms big enough to hold fights between ninjas, women in cocktail dresses and men in business suits or elegant casual wear.

Organizer & Founder
Pari Livermore

Pari Livermore is often referred to as an organizational whirlwind. She is an expert in the field of nonprofit organizations. During the last seventeen years she has raised over three million dollars collectively for such organizations as the American Cancer Society, the Susan G. Kolman Breast Cancer Foundation, the Family Caregivers Alliance, Children's Garden, and the San Francisco Boys and Girls Club.

She has founded, organized and produced such events as the Red & White Ball, the Mentor's Lunch, the Fall Fair, and Pari's favorite event: the Points of Light Celebration. Every year a different organization benefits from Pari's endeavors, and every year her knowledge of the nonprofit industry increases because of the close contact her work brings with them.

Pari is the host of the weekly award winning television show "Everybody's Angels" on Comcast Cable. The show focuses on extraordinary people who volunteer and go beyond the norms of society in helping others.

Pari Livermore enjoys introducing single people for the purpose of marriage. Over 180 people have been married as a result of her efforts and fund raising parties.

Mrs. Livermore is the wife of Putnam Livermore, the Senior Partner at the law firm of Chickering & Gregory. They reside in San Francisco and Calistoga. Pari is living her dream by helping people become more familiar with various nonprofits and the people who so selflessly devote their time to them. They are "Everybody's Angels."
